

Colombian Buñuelos Recipe

Ingredients
- - Vegetable Oil : For frying
- - Cornstarch : 1 1/2 cup
- - Tapioca : 1/4 cup
- - Feta : 1 cup
- - Farmers Cheese : 1 cup
- - Egg : 1
- - Baking Powder : 1/2 tsp
- - Sugar : 2 tablespoons
- - Salt : Pinch
- - Milk : 5 tablespoons
Instructions
1 - Place all the ingredients, except the oil in a medium bowl and mix well using your hands until soft and smooth dough is obtained.
2 - Form small balls using your hands.
3 - In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 300°F (Warm, not very hot).
4 - Carefully drop the balls in the warm oil and fry for about 3 to 4 minutes or until gilden brown.
5 - Remove from the oil and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
6 - Serve.
7 - Frying Colombian buñuelos using the right temperature is very important.
8 - The oil can't be very hot or very cold.
9 - Be sure the oil is heated to 300 to 320 grades F.
