

Baghlaw-e-Khanagi

Ingredients
- - Flour : 600g
- - Eggs : 3
- - Milk : 450ml
- - Vegetable Oil : 75 ml
- - Baking Powder : 1 tsp
- - Ground Walnuts : 50g
- - Cardamom : 10g
- - Sugar : 300g
- - Water : 1 L
Instructions
1 - Place flour in a bowl, and create a hole in the middle of the flour.
2 - Whisk eggs, and then pour whisked eggs into the well.
3 - Add milk, and combine.
4 - Then, stir in the ground walnuts, baking powder and cardamom, and add to the mixture.
5 - Fold ingredients into the mixture until it forms an elastic dough consistency.
6 - Take dough and with a rolling pin, roll out into a thin rectangle on a clean surface.
7 - Then, from the longest side of the rectangle, fold the dough into 3cm-wide lines, until the dough is fully rolled in a long line.
8 - Cut folded dough horizontally into 3cm pieces Heat a deep pan of the vegetable oil, and wait till it reaches frying temperature.
9 - Whilst you are waiting.
10 - Fill a deep pan with 1 litre of water, and bring to the boil.
11 - Then, pour in the sugar, and stir gently until it becomes thick and syrup-like.
12 - Turn down the heat and leave to simmer.
13 - Carefully lower each piece of dough into the frying oil.
14 - Fry until golden brown.
15 - When golden brown, take the Baghlaw pieces out of the oil, and place them into the sugar syrup to coat.
16 - Remove from the syrup and whilst still warm, sprinkle with ground walnuts, so they stick to the Baghlaw.
17 - Leave to cool.
18 - Then, enjoy with your friends and family!.
